The ThingLink content demonstrates how to install Viimatech’s water pump monitoring device. Traditionally, installation instructions are provided as technical PDF documents (linked in the first ThingLink view via a tag), which often lack a direct connection to the practical steps involved in the installation process. In this example, the PDF guide has been transformed into a visual and hands-on learning experience: all installation steps are presented clearly and in the correct context using illustrative images and videos. The aim is to enable a broad range of users to install the device independently by following the visual instructions.

This training content is part of the SPECTRAL project, which focused on developing digital solutions to support the internationalization of Finnish water expertise. The project aimed to enhance the efficiency of the water utility sector through the use of emerging technologies such as remote maintenance, smart pump control, and predictive maintenance. A key focus was on developing cost-effective service packages that can be integrated into water utility operations both in Finland and internationally.
